Easter egg hunt thrills children
It may have been just a brief diversion as children of National Guardsmen hunted for Easter eggs recently. Their parents, members of Bravo Battery, were in training for deployment to Iraq and weren't able to join the fun.
But for a couple of hours, the children hunted eggs, enjoyed a hot dog cook out and made cards to send to soldiers.
The hunt was provided by Red Cross volunteers and its women's support group -- the Red Cross Women of Hope, or WooHoos.
More than 50 children participated, scooping up 2,000 hidden eggs, some with candy, some with surprises. The Easter bunny made a visit and children enjoyed sitting on his lap for photographs.
