About Us
The American Red Cross of Union County is a non-profit humanitarian organization that helps residents of Union and Anson Counties prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. We provide services in four main areas:
Preparedness Training offers classes each month on topics such as first aid, CPR, babysitting, Automated External Defibrillation (AED) and more. Many classes are held at the Monroe and Stallings offices, but instructors go to schools, churches and offices to teach groups.
Disaster Services provides food, water, clothing and shelter to disaster victims and emergency workers, whether it's a single family fire or communitywide disaster. Red Cross staff and volunteers respond 24 hours a day to provide this service.
Blood Services assists with approximately 150 blood drives each year; last year, 5,807 units were collected in Union and Anson Counties.
Armed Forces Emergency Services (AFES) is, by Congressional Charter, the sole emergency communications link between military personnel and their families back home. We are available 24 hours a day to relay medical messages such as a family birth or death, to help military families manage financial crises, to provide financial support for emergencies and to assist with finding military aid funds.
